In the context of political-economic and sociocultural changes in society we pose a question about the moral condition of Polish families. For our sociological analysis we choose only some manifestations of the changes of pro-family values in the consciousness of Polish youth and these are: marriage as a preferred value, social definition of a family, children in a family and children‘s relations with their parents. The transformations of pro-family values will be illustrated by selected results from public opinion polls and the results of sociological research. We do not witness a radical socio-moral breakthrough in family life in Polish society. The research shows that what is „old“ (traditional Catholic family) is still valid in many areas, but that what is „new“ (secularized morality) is also beginning to become more visible. The evolution taking place could be described as a transition from a homogeneous to a heterogeneous moral culture, or as an evolution from traditional homogeneity to modern extremes.marriage, family, family-oriented values, definition of family, children‘s relationship with parents
