Abstrakt:
The article deals with the issues of cultural values of contemporary Europe and is a short comparative study in relation to the values of the concept of sustainable development. In particular, it emphasizes the value of freedom and the related with it responsibility. Due to the fact that contemporary Europe is a multicultural mosaic in which individual actors interact with each other in a variety of ways, the article also highlights the value of tolerance in its various manifestations, from negative and positive tolerance to the affirmation of „otherness“. However, with regard to contemporary Europe, it cannot be said that it is tolerant, fair and responsible. In assumptions and legislation, Europe meets these criteria, but in the practice of everyday life it looks very different.Kľúčové slová:
